Associate Professor Kim Bell-Anderson
I am a teaching and research academic at the Charles Perkins Centre, University of Sydney. Most of my research is related to nutritional physiology and energy metabolism in pre-clinical models of metabolic disease. More recently I have started investigating Australian native grains in co-design with Gamilaraay and Yuwaalaraay elders and knowledge holders. I have taught food and nutrition science to undergraduates since 2003.
I am determined to improve equity, diversity and inclusion (EDI) and do this through working closely with Science in Australia Gender Equity (SAGE) and sitting on a number of EDI committees at the University of Sydney. I also lead the Oceanic Nutrition Leadership Platform (ONLP) Network and Communications Working Group and recently appointed to the High Level Health Claims Committee, Food Standards Australia New Zealand (FSANZ).
I love learning, coding, and creating. See my Creations for my amateur works.
